On March 4, 2020, its Spring Break weekend, James Donaldson-age 19 and friend Titus Blount were transporting his two college friends to their hotel who were visiting from Tennessee State University where they all attended college. They had just left James' home, where his kissed and hugged his mother and said "I will be back ma". Just five minutes later from his home they were all being transported to hospital(s) following fiery crash in Miami Gardens. The crash took place near the Chef Creole restaurant along the 20000 block of Northwest Second Avenue.
According to witnesses, a white Ford Mustang convertible and a black Mercedes-Benz SUV collided. The Mustang flipped about 3 times, they said, and immediately caught fire. Two good Samaritans who lived nearby the scene jumped in action to save their lives.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene putting out fire and transported all four victims. The driver (James Donaldson-age 19) of the Ford Mustang was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition. The other three victims were transported to Aventura Trauma Center (these three survived despite serious injuries). The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
On Monday, March 9, 2020 around 5:45 pm, James Donaldson after putting up a hard fight succumbed to his injuries. He was his mother's (Emma Arnett) ONLY child and best friend, she loved him with her whole heart and no matter the struggles sent him to college at Tennessee State. Emma Arnett, is in need of financial assistance in order to bury her only son in this unforeseen tragic event.
Please be so kind to help no matter how small, she will be very grateful.
Thank you ALL for your heartfelt support,
Emma
