My name is James Cornell and I am a senior varsity high school tennis player. I started going to John Newcombe Tennis Ranch at the age of 10, right after I won a writing scholarship. I instantly fell in love with the sport, the culture, and how the ranch was run. I continued to go there as a camper through the summer of 2023. The only reason I stopped being a camper was because I got the opportunity to coach. I started coaching at the Ranch every week of the summer of 2024 as well as the Thanksgiving camp and second Christmas camp. I went to the first week of Christmas camp as a camper to try out for the touring team. It wasn’t easy because there were over 150 guys trying out and only 8 were chosen. I was one of the lucky ones to get chosen. Touring team is a great experience where I'll get to go be a camper at the ranch to train and practice for a week and a half, then I'll head to the UK to watch Wimbledon and play in a tournament. After that, I'll get to go and sight see all around the UK with my team. I would greatly appreciate any type of help to reach my goal and to be able to go out and live my dream. I'll be working hard to prepare for this amazing opportunity. Thank you for your support!
