James C. Plant Memorial
My name is Sam, James’ best friend for 30 years. On January 10, 2021, Heaven gained a great man. James was a husband, father, friend, brother and most importantly a Christ follower. His legacy will never be forgotten and his friendship will be cherished. James wasn’t a perfect man, but he embraced the journey God laid before him and never accepted defeat. Quit was not a word in his vocabulary and he would fight and grind everyday to make sure his family was taken care of. He would give you the shirt off his back and never ask for it back. He played hard but loved even harder. There aren’t enough words for me to express how my heart breaks right now for the loss of my brother and most importantly for his family
James was a provider and protector like no other. He would always say, “if you need anything, you better call me.”He wasn’t just saying it, he actually meant it and would sometimes help without you asking simply because he knew you needed a leg up. He leaves behind a beautiful family, April his wife, Lillian his daughter and two sons, Liam and Thad. Because of his willingness to help everyone else, it’s is time for me to do the same for him
James worked everyday to become a better man and having his wife and kids right there next to him was the light of his life. You couldn’t have a conversation with him without him talking about his wife and kids and how deeply he cared for them. April is a tremendous woman and there is no doubt God put those two together. James needed a woman to love him for who he was and she did just that which in turn motivated James to do everything within his power to provide for his family. He overcame the odds of a turbulent childhood to create a legacy that will be remembered from here on out. We don’t say goodbye my brother, we say “catch you on the flip side,”
I am raising money to help his family in their time of mourning and loss. James was the sole provider for his family and the last thing they need to worry about is how the bills are going to be paid. Even though you may not have known James, I am asking as your friend and brother in Christ to consider helping this beautiful family by showing them the love of God and how powerful it is.
