On October 27th, 2018 my brother was in a severe car accident. He broke his neck and fractured pretty much every vertebrae in his spine after his car malfunctioned. He was taken in for an 11hr surgery yesterday to fix his life threatening injuries and to stabilize him. This is just the beginning of this nightmare. If you know James, you’d know he lights up any room he walks into. He is the absolute life of the party and makes everyone feel welcomed and included. He has been watching over me since the day I was born. I honestly feel like I’ve grown up with my own personal guardian. If anything ever happened to me, he’s always the first person to rush to fix it (i.e. a scraped knee or a broken heart). He has been my rock, my lifeline and my very very best friend. I’ve watched him turn into the most selfless, loving, caring person in the whole world. He only ever thinks about others and has been the peacemaker in our family (we are very stubborn people and he somehow gets through to all of us). I can’t possibly comprehend why this is happening. I just wish I could be his guardian for once and take his pain away. But he’s got a long road ahead of him and a whole army of people ready to help him out in whatever way possible. I can’t express how thankful we are for all of your prayers and everyone who’s checked up on him. He could be in the hospital for months, but unfortunately he doesn’t have health insurance and this is going to cost a fortune. If anyone would like to donate to help him out with his medical bills, we would be forever grateful. Thank you so much for all of the support. Our family is heartbroken and all of your messages mean the world.

This is a message his youngest sister Anna shared on her Facebook:

This man is not just my brother but my best friend. The most lively person that you will ever meet. The most kind that you have ever seen. The most genuine guy I know is James. Well James was in a horrific accident causing him to be paralyzed from the neck down. Their getting a team together to operate on his broken neck. Please send prayers. We need a miracle. This man needs to walk again and I have a feeling with your help and the Lords help nothing will come in between James and his miracle. Please share to get my family some prayers. Our family is broken right now just in utter disbelief.

This is a message his sister Amber posted:
James. James was in a horrific car accident a few nights ago that has left him paralyzed from the chest down. Even though James & I don’t share blood, we share so much more. This man and I have grown up together and there’s absolutely nothing we haven’t shared throughout the years. He can light up a room with his crooked half smile & can make you laugh at your deepest, darkest moments. As far as a ”brother” goes, we don’t need a bloodline to discourage us from being family. This family means the entire world to me, every single one of them. We were meant to find each other all those years ago & even a thousand miles hasn’t kept us apart. Thank you Courtney for setting up this page. Please donate money only if you feel compelled but mostly, James needs your prayers.
