James "Big Jim" Hattabaugh's funeral expenses

I am saddened to share the news of James Hattabaugh's (Big Jim's) passing. He passed away October 6th, 2022 peacefully in his sleep. Jim was born in California and lived there until enlisting in the Marine Corps. He served his country during the Vietnam war and was awarded a purple heart for his service. Jim was on 100% VA disability and had always believed that the VA would cover his funeral expenses. Unfortunately, his family has discovered that the government will cover only a small portion of his final costs. They have found themselves emotionally and financially unprepared for this shocking news. I am hoping that our friends and family who are willing and able to help can contribute so we can give him the proper funeral and honors he deserves. We will post the details about his celebration of life ceremony in the next few days once arrangements can be made.
