James & Audrey Whitney's Complete Home Loss

Donation protected

In the early hours of the morning, my parents James & Audrey Whitney, devastatingly lost their home, and everything in it, to a fire. We always joked about Mom's "hound-dog" nose but thankfully, it was this keen sense of smell which woke them and allowed them to escape with their animals....As most of us would, Dad tried to extinguish the fire and suffered some smoke inhalation as a result. He is currently in hospital for 24 hours observation, and we are expecting a positive outcome from this stay. As you can all imagine, they are in need of EVERYTHING right now, so anything you can contribute to allow us to help them start rebuilding their lives is appreciated. Especially during this time of lockdown/covid/restrictions is has made our traditional, maritime, ways of fundraising super difficult.....Mom is severely hearing impaired and has a cochlear implant which she was not able to grab on the way out. At this point, the world is silent for her so getting all of her "hearing gear" replaced is top priority. The coming days will bring much uncertainty, huge emotions, and even bigger expenses....unfortunately, they won't be fully covered for their loss. Thank you to everyone who has already reached out, brought meals, provided clothing, and offered support. Feel free to contact my by email [email redacted] or phone [phone redacted] with any questions, or to pass along any messages. Again, thanks in advance for any help you can offer and I look forward to seeing how their "village" comes together in this time of need.
