On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, my parents home was damaged when tornados struck communities throughout Bay County, Florida. The destruction specifically to their neighborhood was worse than when Hurricane Michael hit the Panhandle in 2018.
Luckily, they are OK, walking away with only bruises. Despite a camper trailer from a few streets over crashing directly into their bedroom (pictured), a steel beam (of unknown origin) piercing through several walls, and trees breaking through the roof—leaving their home unlivable.
Both are older, retired or work minimally. These days, they mainly help me out, taking care of my four children. So I’m just trying to return the favor. Anything to help towards their recovery and rebuilding efforts is greatly appreciated.
