Jamel's trip to Costa Rica!

Hello Friends!
I have the opportunity to go to Costa Rica with Nyack College this Spring Break, March 4-12, 2017 ! This is one of the countries I have always wanted to visit so this is kind of a bucket list dream come true.
Here is the description of what we will be doing straight from the Professor: Study the coffee trade experimentally! From harvesting the berries of coffee trees, through the unique process that turns a little berry into a steaming cup of coffee, students will explore coffee farms, mills, collectives and coops, training centers and outlets. Students will learn about free trade, fair trade, and direct trade models, the coffee buyers, community and economic development in coffee communities, and the many different layers of the coffee industry. Students will travel by plane, bus, and boat on this epic learning journey with coffee loving couple, Dr. Scott and Jenny Reitz.
The cost of the trip is $1900, however, I will also need money to cover babysitting for the week I am away, so I asking for a bit more. It feels weird and deeply humbling for me to be asking for help, but in truth, I need it in order to have this opportunity which I have wanted most of my life.
I can't thank you enough for any help you can provide. Large or small, it means the world to me. I look forward to being able to thank you when I get back in the form of a picture of the experiences I have in Costa Rica.
