James has been selected to attend the Haarlem Jamborette in the Netherlands in 2027 - https://www.haarlemjamborette.nl
This is an amazing opportunity for him and he feels very privileged to have been chosen to attend with Gloucestershire Scouting contingent.
This event brings together Scouts from around the world to participate in a diverse range of activities, learn new skills, experience different cultures, and build lasting friendships.
I am reaching out for assistance with the expenses to enable James to take up this fantastic opportunity.
Your generosity will not only help James achieve his goal but will also invest in his personal growth and development.
A message from James:
'I am fundraising to contribute towards the cost of a 12 day Jamborette in the Netherlands, July/August 2027.
I have been in Scouting from 6 years old as a Beaver and I am now 11 years old and in Scouts. This has been a key part of my development; building confidence and skills such as teamwork and provides me with a diverse range of friends as well as male role models to look up to.
As an enthusiastic Scout, some of my hobbies consist of working around a fire, cooking and doing cool experiments. I attended a Summer Camp last year with my local Scout Group to help prepare me for future camp opportunities such as Haarlem. At the Summer Camp I learnt more about orienteering, axe work and personal resilience, these skills will help me thrive at Haarlem. Some of my hobbies outside of scouting are; football, chess and basketball. Recently my fellow Scouts and I went to our nearby Morrisons and packed bags to fundraise.
The Scout Jamborette is a cultural and learning opportunity. 3500 Scouts and Explorers aged 10 to 17 will attend from all corners of the globe (up to 25 countries). I acknowledge that I am incredibly fortunate to be given this opportunity but I also know that it wasn’t all down to luck. I attended a whole day, with 207 Scouts/Explorers turning up to take part in a selection day. I was in a team of Scouts I didn’t know, we were given fun activities and puzzles to solve and were observed by a leader. I was 1 of the 35 Scouts chosen to represent Gloucestershire Scouting.
I am hoping you might be willing to sponsor me with a donation.
Any contribution, no matter how small, makes a significant difference and is greatly appreciated.'
Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
Charlotte and James
