Jamarri's Path to Harvard Needs You

Temple High School senior Jamarri Thrasher has an extraordinary opportunity. Jamarri was accepted to the Harvard Undergraduate Ventures TECH Summer Program.

The Harvard Undergraduate Ventures TECH Summer Program is a selective online program offering ambitious high school students hands-on experience through one-on-one mentorships at cutting-edge, venture-backed startups. Students attend daily interactive seminars and workshops from multimillion-dollar companies, CEOs, and Harvard faculty. The capstone project is a six-week internship in an industry and role tailored toward their individual career goal and interests. The program aims to provide invaluable real-world experience and insights into the startup ecosystem for motivated young innovators.

After progressing through the three admissions rounds and interview phase, Jamarri received his official invitation to attend. He was blessed with a $2000 scholarship. Unfortunately, this still leaves him with $2750 short of the tuition total. He has until 07 May 2025 to accept the invitation.

Jamarri has a tremendous list of accomplishments. These are a few:

• Twice Placed 1st in Texas and 8th Nationally in the “FBLA Virtual Business Challenge” (2023-2024) (2024-2025)

• FBLA Securities and Investments Test (9th state) (2023-2024) 5 Top 10%

• Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Club President, Temple High School, Temple, TX (August 2022 - Present)

-Gained $16,157.49 in donations across the 2022-2024 school years for member state and national competitions.

-Organized 2024-2025 regional area 3 competition event site with members on Temple High School campus.

• National Honor Society (NHS) Member Temple High School, Temple, TX (August 2023-Present)

-Completed 60+ hours of community service.

• Business Professionals of America (BPA) Member, Temple High School, Temple, TX (August 2023-Present)

Jamarri is attending UT-Dallas in the fall with plans to transfer to UT-Austin or Texas A&M beyond that.
