Dear Friends and Family,

I'm reaching out to you because I've started a GoFundMe for a very close family friend and a dear friend to my youngest son, Michael. His name is Jamari Gamble. Jamari grew up in the Milbrook projects and his parents worked hard to get him and his siblings through Catholic school for their entire lives. Although growing up in the South Bronx had its adversities, Jamari and his family always pushed themselves to do better.

In 2017, Jamari’s dad was diagnosed with Cancer. From the time of his diagnoses and through several surgeries, the family’s income was significantly impacted. Bills began piling up and Jamari’s high school tuition was adding up as well. Although Jamari was able to finish high school, his tuition still has a significant balance due and his transcripts will not be released without payment of this balance. He is eager to attend college and continue his education but colleges will not even look at his record without those transcripts.

Jamari is now 18 years old and working as a group leader at East Side Settlement helping kids do their homework. As a mother and a human being, I am asking for any donation you can give that will all go towards his tuition balance. Jamari and his mother are still going through some challenges as his father continues fighting this disease but they have not given up.

Please help me give Jamari an opportunity to get the education he deserves. He wants to major in Nursing and looks forward to his future. He is a respectful young man that just needs help to get started. Proof of payment once this fund is completed will be shared with everyone who donates.  I have never asked for anything but those of you who know me well know how important education is for me. Please help me get him on his way to college. I love Jamari like my own and it will kill me not to do all I can to help him.
