Jamar's Uphill Fight

You know something is really wrong when your son can't be reached during his vacation and you are forced to call around to different hospitals hoping to locate him. This is exactly what happened to Jamar's parents this past weekend. In a frantic state, they located him at Jackson Memorial Hospital, in Miami. Jamar was vacationing alone for a few days prior to boarding a cruise with his family. Before that could happen, Jamar suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm.
Knowing something was up, Jamar went to the emergency room on his own. At some point, he fell unconscious and was rushed into emergency surgery. The surgery took 10 hours. He has been in the ICU the past 2 days, is breathing on his own, and has been semi-responsive. At one point he did state his name, the year, and was able to recognize his parents, but for the most part has been sedated.
Jamar lives and works in Washington, DC. Doctors are anticipating that he may not be able to leave the hospital in Miami for several weeks. After that, he will most likely be transported to Atlanta, so his parents can care for him as he begins physical therapy. Jamar has a LONG road ahead of him.
His road to recovery will be expensive in several ways:
Emergency room, transport, emergency surgery, misc. medical procedures
ICU & Hospital stay for several weeks
Physical therapy for several weeks
Jamar is one of my best friends, literally like a brother to me. He puts a smile on my face when I am down, and is always there for me when I need support. From the bottom of my heart along with all of Jamar’s friends, we humbly ask that you share this link with friends and family and give in any way possible (any amount will help).
We thank you for your support and God bless each and every one of you!!
