Dear community,

Jamaica and her friends and family want to thank you so much for your ongoing support.
As a small update, we want to share that Jamaica has been moved out of the ICU as her vitals have stabilized, and is in the oncology treatment ward, receiving care on multiple levels. Jamaica is still unable to walk, but is receiving treatment for the cancer caused spinal fractures and beginning physiotherapy.
The hospital is home to leading doctors in triple negative breast cancer research and she is under good care. Jamaica’s treatment is being approached day by day and we try to make the days meaningful.
Her sisters and closest friends are by her side. She is being supplemented with favorite foods, books, music, stories and laughter, and we continue to research second medical opinions.
Because of the ongoing evaluation and treatment, Jamaica cannot answer all of your messages directly, but your care is received and goes a long way.
Your donations have already helped pay off necessary medical insurances and living expenses. Thank you for all of your support!

We are heartbroken to share that our dear friend Jamaica is currently in the ICU (intensive care unit) and going through a serious medical emergency that will require ongoing care.
Her friends, community and family are coming together to help collect funds as a form of relief.

The diagnosis is still very fresh. Tests and results are ongoing in and she is currently undergoing critical (medical) treatment at a specialized hospital in Brandenburg.
Her sisters have just arrived to Berlin from California and the Philippines to support her.

We want to deeply respect her privacy, as she hasn't had the time or space to process the ongoing situation, and it wouldn't feel right to share more before she's ready.

What we can say is that it is serious, and the road ahead is long.
And the medical situation has exacerbated over the last half year in an unexpected way.

Because Jamaica is a musician, her income doesn't exist without her being physically present. No stage, no work, no pay.
And though Jamaica has asked the doctors about going back to tour, this won't be medically possible soon.
There is no sick leave or salary running for her in the background.

We would like to collect funds to cover Jamaica’s
-housing costs
-medical insurance and social contributions
-lapsing studio costs
-medical bills and equipment tbd.

Due to the months of ongoing medical complexity, the financial situation is already acute.

We want Jamaica to focus entirely on health and recovery, without financial stress or pressure to get back on a stage.

We will include regular updates here.

If the collected money exceeds what she needs, we will give it to a charity of her choice.

If you know Jamaica, you already know why we're doing this.

If you don't, please know you'd be helping someone truly extraordinary in your extended community, get through the hardest thing most of us have ever faced.

Thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts.

Every little bit counts more than you know.
