This December, I have the opportunity to travel to Jamaica with the University of Louisville School of Dentistry for a Christian dental mission trip. From December 6th to 13th, our team will be working in a local clinic, providing free dental care to people who otherwise have limited access to these essential services. Each day, we’ll be performing fillings, extractions, and any other treatments we can to help our patients become the healthiest versions of themselves. Alongside the dental work, we’ll also participate in daily devotions, sharing encouragement and hope with the community.

I was inspired to join this mission after seeing the opportunity, and I knew this mission was for me. As someone who has spent the last 2.5 years studying and practicing dentistry, I can’t think of a better way to show love to others than by using my skills to serve. This trip brings together two of my top greatest priorities—my faith and my passion for dental care. I am excited to see how God will work in me and through me during this experience.
