Jaloya Barrett passed away on 12/8/2021. Jaloya was son, brother, uncle and friend. At birth we were told that due to his challenges he would not walk or talk. Jaloya not only walked and talked, but he called you on the phone incessently and you would need to ask the DJ to stop playing music so you could get him to leave the party. He connected with everyone in the community; from the pastor to the corner boys. Donovon (as his family called him) loved life and lived a full one. Right now we sit in our grief from the loss of his physical presence and reflect on the great moments he gave us all. We are creating this go fund me to support us in celebrating him. We will hold a celebration in the Spring, when it can be done safely outdoors; and will take some of his ashes to Jamaica the home of his ancestors and a land he visited many times. Many have shared that they wanted to contribute to celebrating Donovon out of their love for him. so we have setup this GoFund me. We thank you for your generosity and love of Jaloya.
