We received a phone call in the late night hours that would forever change our lives. Jalexius, a very loved daughter and sister, was one of the two young women taken from us in Dothan, Al, on November 20, 2022. Gun violence played a role in Jalexius losing her life. She was at a gathering that she did not know would be her last. After witnessing her friend being murdered in front of her, the gun was turned on her. "Lex" meant everything to us. Her smile, her kind words, her warm, loving hugs, her infectious laugh, her huge heart, and just her simply blessing us with her presence are now all a part of our past. She was an amazing aunt; she always ensured her niece was okay. One thing she didn't play about was her niece. No matter how much we ask God to send her back to us, we will never get her back. Not only did Lex have a large impact on our family, but she had a loving impact on many people who knew her. God makes no mistakes, and we appreciate and love him for protecting our heavy hearts as we send our baby home. Anything helps, and anything received will be so, so appreciated and will be put towards funeral costs and lost wages due to missing work.
