Hi, my name is Jakqueline Granillo and I am a freshman at Smith College.

I grew up having this dream about working at NASA. Ever since second grade, my eyes navigated space. I looked up, because I escaped my world. I saw stars, planets, and a similar universe as my mind; I saw a journey, a never ending one. I was amazed by every star, every planet, and every galaxy that I read about. Of course, as a child I only knew basics, but the urge to improve my intellect on my interests increased. As I got older, my eyes were locked on one thing. A facility that was as diverse as our workforce. NASA had everything I had ever wished for.

My dreams started to become reality. I was recently offered an internship for the summer (two months) at NASA in Moffett Field, California and I would LOVE to accept it. There is one problem. I do not have enough funding for housing during the internship. With your help, I will be able to go into the facility of my dreams and be able to live it at last.

This opportunity at NASA will be a huge step for me. It will prepare me for the future. This internship will enhance my critical thinking skills, my communication skills, and my knowledge. I will learn about how certain technology is used, how research is done, and how to become the right candidate for future jobs. Being able to experience working at NASA will be a dream come true.

Remaining money will go to my education. All the money I recieve will go towards funding my internship as well as funding for my college education.
