JaKobes Journey

Back in January JaKobe started having seizures, we were scheduled for an MRI back in April that was canceled due to covid 19. We were able to get the MRI scheduled and done on June 19th, shortly after the test was done we received a call they had located a lesion on his brain. This lesions turned out to be a brain tumor and we were scheduled for surgery to extract it. On July 8th we checked into the hospital for his procedure and surgery went great. Shortly after this we received JaKobes pathology report, what they found was a mix of low-grade and high grade Malignant cells, a type of tumor that they said shows many properties and similarity to other tumors but something they haven't seen before. As of right now we still have no idea exactly what we are dealing with. After meeting with his oncologist what we know is there is no evidence it has  spread to the spine or any other part of the brain that they can see, what we don't know is if the doctor was able to extract the whole mass because there is still to much swelling to be sure. As of this time we are moving forward with radiation treatment while we wait on further test results from the nih and Seattle children's to determine when we need to move into Chemo. I am a single mom with 3 boys trying to make it all work and looking for help to maintain our bills so while we fo through this long journey we dont have to stress about keeping a roof over our head and the lights on, so we dont have to worry about having a car to get to and from our appointments. Being a bartender I was furloughed back on March 16th and was due to hopefully returning to work part time after JaKobes surgery and now with the new information, appointments coming up and the closing the bars early im not sure what we will do.
