Hello,
My name is Jakiya Thompson, and I am a 9th grade student-athlete from Elsik High School in Houston, Texas. I was recently selected to represent the United States by participating in an International Girls Basketball Tournament and Training Camp located in the Bahamas. I have been invited to represent the United States in this special International Showcase for youth basketball teams from all over the world. I was selected for this honor after an extensive process by the program Selection Committee. I will be provided with the opportunity to participate in a training camp with Collegiate and professional coaches, compete in the International Tournament, Interact with other foreign athletes and tour the historical attractions of the host country. I
Intend to utilize this opportunity to exchange experiences with youth from different countries. The Program Tuition includes the training camp, transportation, accommodations and most associated costs. In order to participate in this once in a Lifetime opportunity, I need your help. Currently, I am requesting donations from individuals and businesses to help alleviate the financial cost. I also plan to host a thank you reception upon my return for all my contributors so they can share my experiences.
I am willing to work hard to obtain my goal of traveling to the Bahamas this summer, and will participate in a Shoot-a-thon to recognize all of my sponsors.
