As some as you may know , Jake the 16 WEEK OLD mini schnauzer, came to our animal hospital a little over a month ago. His owners relinquished him over to our hospital as they were unable to provide the treatment Jake needs. 

 The amazing staff at BayShore Animal Hospital has gone out of pocket to get the recent testing we needed to confirm he does in fact NEED surgery. 

Unfortunately the type of surgery needed can not be done at our hospital & requires a specialist. 

Jakes diagnosis is a Live Shunt . The effects of a liver shunt cause ::

-Proteins, nutrients, and toxins bypass the liver and go right into the system
-Blood from the abdominal organs does not enter the liver, again directly entering systemic circulation
-A liver shunt can cause kidney and bladder infection, as well as stones . 

We are asking for ANY help to reach our goal of HALF the surgery cost, So Jake can get the surgery and move forward to live out his life.  Any amount could help save this puppy's life! 

Jake will still be looking for his forever home post surgery .
