Jake's Journey Home
Donation protected
On March 17th, Jake was in a horrible car accident in Wichita, Kansas. When we received news of the accident, Mona (my wife) and I went to Wichita from our home in California. The accident caused a severe traumatic brain injury. After spending 26 days in the Trauma ICU at St. Francis Hospital, Jake was transported to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. Although he continues to progress in his recovery, we learned today that our insurance has denied an extension for treatment. Jake has a planned discharge date of August 10th. Transporting Jake home by car isn't an option, and he's unable to fly on a commercial flight at this time, so he must be transported by air ambulance. Unfortunately, our insurance, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of California, will not cover the cost of an air ambulance. Our family has been by Jake's side since the day of the accident and we will continue to be there every step of the way. We are asking for your support, which is both humbling and challenging. We appreciate the amazing team at Madonna, and while we are sad to leave, we are also looking forward to going home and taking the next steps in Jake's Journey.
We know Jake's Journey is far from over. Thank you for helping our family go home to finish it together.
God Bless. Love and Appreciate you all...
