Today, April 20, 2022, unexpectedly and prematurely, Aawok Daysri Marvin “Jake” Jones, passed onto be with his ancestors and journey onto the next part of his life. His wake will be on Friday, April 22nd, 6 pm at his maternal village of Nii~lii~chvndvn, 6701 South Bank Road, Crescent City, CA. On Saturday, April 23rd, 9 am, final boat ride from Requa, CA and Services, 1pm, Xaawan’k’wvt (Howonquet) Hall Community Center, 101 Indian Court, Smith River, CA and Internment at Xaawan’k’wvt Cemetery with fellowship immediately following at Xaawan’k’wvt Hall for potluck dinner.
Aawok Daysri Jake will be sorely missed as he was truly an exemplary gift for us all. He was a one of a kind lover of life, who would do anything, anytime for anyone without question. He truly was a hero with his countless saves of human lives throughout his time of service here on our Mother Earth.
