Asking for help is hard, but doing nothing while Jake is in pain is even harder. Many of you may recognize Jake from the For Love of Humor YouTube channel. If you’ve ever loved a dog, you know they don’t just become part of your life — they become part of your heart. Jake has been that for me every single day. Recently, Jake was diagnosed with a torn ACL (cranial cruciate ligament). He’s in pain, struggling to walk, and unable to do the simple things he loves — running, playing, and just being his happy self. Watching him try to get up and not understand why his body won’t cooperate has been heartbreaking.
After consulting with the veterinarian, we were given two surgical options. One attempts to repair the ligament, but in large dogs like Rottweilers, it often fails and can leave them injured all over again. The recommended option for Jake is TPLO surgery, which stabilizes the knee using a surgical plate. This procedure has a much higher healing success rate and far better long-term outcomes, especially for dogs Jake’s size. The cost for Jake’s TPLO surgery, including anesthesia, medications, and follow-up care, is significant. It’s an overwhelming amount, and while I’m doing everything I can, I can’t do this alone.
I’m asking for help — not just to cover a medical bill, but to give Jake the chance to heal, to walk without pain, and to get back to being the joyful dog so many people love. If you’re able to donate, please know that every single dollar truly matters. If you’re not in a position to donate, sharing Jake’s story means just as much. Your kindness, support, and love are already giving us strength during one of the hardest moments we’ve faced. Thank you for caring about Jake. Thank you for reading his story. And thank you for helping give him the chance to walk comfortably again. With love and gratitude, It’s Sabrina
