Jake Phillips Memorial Athletic Scholarship

On July 15, 2013, Jake Phillipe, 16, perished in a drowning accident in a pond in Willis, Virginia.. Jake loved playing football for the Floyd County Buffaloes, as well as participating in track so an athletic scholarship was created in Jake's memory.
We knew Jake would have wanted to help his classmates achieve their dreams and goals.

This year the amount and number of scholarships will be based on how much is contributed through GoFundMe . The total amount raised will be divided and awarded in equal amounts to two recipients unless the total is less than $500, in which case there will only be one scholarship awarded.

The scholarship(s) will be given to applicant(s) that have participated in at least one sport or organized physical activity (i.e. cheerleading), and earned at least a 2.5 GPA.

Jake was a wonderful, caring young man who would have been honored to help any of his peers reach their dreams.  Please honor his memory by contributing to the scholarship.
