Help Jake Kick Cancer's Ass

Hello all! My name is Jamie, and I am putting this fundraiser together for my brother-in-law, Jake Howell.

On June 7th of this year, Jake was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma after noticing a bump on his neck a few weeks earlier (while trying to tame his wildman beard). He received his diagnosis just a few days before he and Kev up and moved across the country back to good ol' rocky top. He's back in Knox receiving treatment and started Chemotherapy two weeks ago-- one round down, seven to go! Jake has become a regular at the hospital and has had an ultrasound, needle biopsy, echocardiogram, pulmonary test, surgical biopsy, and port inserted in his chest. As of now, we anticipate about four more months of treatment.

In typical Jake fashion, spirits have remained high. That being said, the financial burden of medical bills and lost work is a less than welcome addition to the stress of the situation. Cancer is no fun, but hopefully, we can alleviate some of the financial ends of the stress. The plan is for funds to go towards medical bills and home equipment to help Jake stay comfortable. The most important thing for Jake to focus on right now is getting better, so the goal is to keep costs as far out of his mind as possible.

Jake is very fortunate to be surrounded by such a wildly supportive community as he fights this battle! In addition to financial support, Jake and Kevyn will never turn away good company or a yummy meal.
