Hi, my name is Carissa and I'm fundraising for Jake Slatter. His mother, Joanie, has been one of my closest friends for about 15 years. Jake recently was in a dirt bike accident over this last weekend (April 26). He's currently in the hospital unconscious and is in critical condition. Most of the bones in his face are broken among many other injuries. Jake will be undergoing several surgeries that are intensive and expensive due to the nature of his injuries. Their family is not only going through one of the most difficult times emotionally but will be undergoing a major financial burden with hospital bills. Jake is 26 and just started a new job that he's so excited about. Due to the limited time he's been there, he doesn't currently have health insurance. I can't say enough about how caring and thoughtful the Slatter's are. Joanie and Jason are always willing to jump in and help anyone in need. They've done so much for my family over the years now I'm hoping by sharing their story we can help them during this difficult time. We've known Jake since he was about 11.
