Jake Hammer - Leukemia Fundraiser

On November 14, 2023 Jake was admitted to the UW Hospitals Oncology wing with a generalized leukemia diagnosis. On November 21, 2023, he was officially diagnosed with Ph+ ALL (Philadelphia-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia). Overall treatment will take at least 12 months. He will take part in a variety of inpatient/outpatient treatments and clinical trials.

Jake is a passionate music educator and has passed on his love for music to hundreds of students for the past 13 years. One of the most challenging parts of his diagnosis is knowing that he will not be making music with his students for the foreseeable future. If you know Jake and his wife, you know how active they are throughout the year with musical activities and how much they will miss their time away. There’s no way to tell now how much Jake's medical bills will amount to. Additionally, we know he will lose a substantial portion of his income during this time but we are fundraising to financially support his family during this difficult time.
