Jake and Silent Rob Get Divorced

Jake is a trans man who came out in 2018, and Rob is a cis straight man. Jake and Rob have been separated for over a year, and are still friends. Aside from $1400 to cover the cost of our amicable divorce and the $500 vet bill from the death of our cat Bubby last year, I (Jake) am hoping to raise some extra money for both of us as we start the next chapter of our lives. For me, that means hundreds of dollars in doctor's visits and HRT, at least $25K in surgeries, money to move across the country, change my gender marker and name on my documents (so that I can do everyday things like apply for jobs without having to get deadnamed and misgendered), buy a new wardrobe...literally all the costs of being trans. For Rob, any extra money will help him transition into the next phase of his life, which is to go on to university and pursue his bachelor's degree in engineering.
Thanks to some deceptive screenshots, a bunch of people are now under the impression that Jake cheated on Rob, and that's why the marriage is ending. The marriage is ending, quite simply, because Rob is a straight man whose partner realized he was also a man. Rob acknowledges and accepts that Jake is a man, and Jake accepts that Rob is straight and not attracted to men. I really wish this could have just been our business because having to air this out publicly is extremely painful and I didn't want to make Rob look like the bad guy in this situation. Jake and Rob are getting a divorce!! Help us celebrate our marriage, our friendship, and our futures.
We're asking you to donate a couple bucks to help us cover the cost of filing our divorce paperwork and paying Jake's lawyer. Anything we raise past the $250ish we need for the actual divorce will be put towards our shared debt: $500 to CareCredit after losing our chubby angel cat Bubby in November; plus shared credit card debt that we've accrued over our time as partners.
Anything you can share would be an incredible blessing to us both. Your support would be a recognition of the time we spent together and our future as friends and as individuals. Bad news: Jake met with his lawyer today and was quoted $1400 for the divorce including all filing fees. We've upped our goal to $2000, which would cover the divorce and Bubby's end of life care. Anything beyond $1900 will be split between us and used to pay off credit card debt.
