Hi family and friends.

I’m Serena, the oldest daughter (of two) of Jaime Sandoval.

If you’ve been a friend on my socials or are a friend/family of ours, I’m sure by now you know that my dad has been fighting cancer. He has been in and out of hospitals for 2 years and just about weekly for the last year. He is now on hospice and on the decline.

Every time we were told he might not make it through the night, there he was the next week, surprising us all. This time is a lot different.

After one stint in the hospital (weeks long), he came back home and pushed himself to mow the lawn (against all efforts to keep in bed resting lol). He is the true definition of a fighter.

Unfortunately, he has been bedridden since November of last year and it’s been mentally taxing, My dad is tired.

My dad has 5 grandchildren who absolutely love him. As a single mother of 3 children, my dad automatically stepped up and became a father figure to my babies. He made a lot of changes to become the greatest grandfather he could be. I will forever be grateful for that. My sister has her twins who are 2 and my dad was over the moon (still is) when they were born. They love their grandpa and it gives us an achey heart knowing they only had a short time with him. He is going to be sorely missed by us all.

We want to give my dad Jaime the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. I am currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of his arrangements. My mom has had to stop working to care for my dad around the clock. One thing about my parents, they always worked so hard. As you can imagine, this has put a financial strain on her.
