Donate to Help Jaime Beat Cancer

We decided to set this up in the hopes to help lessen the financial burden for Jaime temporarily to give some assistance. Some of you may or may not be aware but Jaime was recently diagnosed with Mucinous Ovarian Cancer which is a rare (less than 3% occurring) cancer.

Jaime was not feeling her self a few days before Thanksgiving and had a bloated stomach and a feeling of “heaviness” in her lower abdomen. She had some symptoms prior but because she had lost her full time job due to layoffs in the end of 2022 she did not have benefits and go to a dr. On Nov 29th 2023 we went to the ER where they noticed a large mass measuring approx 15 cm coming from her left ovary visible on CT scans and ultrasounds. 2 days later we went to the OBGYN oncologist and 1 week later on December 8th 2023 she went into surgery. The diagnosis was shocking and she not only had the tumor removed (which was 17cm) but she has lost both ovaries, fallopian tubes, omentum and had a total hysterectomy, in addition to that during the surgery the surgeon unintentionally ruptured a portion of the mass which spilled into her abdominal cavity. Due to this spillage her staging increased from a 1A to 1C1. This cancer is so rare there is not a true road path and it is known to not be responsive to Chemo which given her spillage is a concern. Currently we are getting other opinions at some of the best hospitals such as Sloan where they are meeting to review her pathologies and vote on what the deem may be the best course of action. There are a some options to get other tests and off label treatments however they are not covered by insurance which you can image the cost. We are asking to please circulate this and if you have the means to donate anything it is greatly appreciated in this time so we can get some answers and possible treatments.
