What began as a celebration of life for our mom Leslie in Maui unexpectedly shifted to our family being at the bedside of our funny and beloved Uncle Jaime (Leslie’s brother-in-law)!

The evening after the lovely ceremony, Uncle Jaime collapsed during dinner and following tests, it was determined he suffered a major hemorrhagic stroke. Jaime was quickly intubated to avoid further brain bleeding and in the days since, it’s been a rollercoaster filled with little signs of progress and a ton of emotions. The next days will inform what the long road to recovery will look like.

Our Aunt Julie will need to stay on the island during rehabilitation before transport back to the mainland. We want to support them to offset the unexpected medical, housing, and rehabilitation expenses.
