Jaidah Ruedy first felt sick a few weeks ago with flu like symptoms and started noticing shortness of breath in gym class at school. After several weeks of nausea and vomiting she was seen twice in the Emergency room and the third trip hospitalized for three days with what drs said to be dehydration. The symptoms continued so Jaidah had a follow up appointment with her PEDs doctor. After doing a chest xray and blood work, two blood clots were found in her left ventricle and her heart and liver were enlarged. Her lungs were filling with fluud and Jaidah was taken by ambulance to University of MN Masonic Children's hospital in Minneapolis. Where she is in the icu. Jaidah has now been diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopothy. It is weaning of the hearts muscles and it is not able to pump blood. Several medications were started and her heart is not responding to the meds. As of now, Jaidah is a priority candidate for a heart transplant. Jaidah will be staying at the hospital until
a new heart becomes available with the right matches! We want to thank everyone for all the prayers and positive thoughts. As we all know this is going to very stressful for Jaidahs mom Laura. She is facing financial hardships and is in need of a miracle. A trust fund has been set up at Bremer Bank.
