Jahmai Jahron Furtado-Cooper (aka "Mai") was such a beautiful spirit. In October 2016, we lost dear Jahmai to a severe asthma attack just days after his 10th birthday.
Immediately following this tragedy, the Argenziano and Somerville communities and beyond came together and raised donations to cover the expenses needed for Jahmai's memorial service. The expenses were more than anticipated, and additional funds are still needed so Jahmai can have a headstone.
Jahmai brought joy to a multitude of people across the Somerville community, and he was often deemed the honorary "Mayor of Somerville" by various school officials, which speaks to just how much he was loved.

Please join us for a celebration of the life of Jahmai on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 4:30pm - 5:30pm at the Argenziano School. All are welcome, but we ask that children in grades 6th and below are accompanied by parent or guardian.
