Jahaira Beltran-Chávez

On February 11, we lost Jahaira in a tragic car accident. She graduated from Owen in 2022, coming back to our community in her senior year and living with her sister, Karen Beltran Chavez, and her baby nephew with one of Owen's teachers, Samantha Gallman. Since graduation she persisted through obstacles to enroll and attend AB Tech, hoping to become a psychologist and therapist, and took steps into young adulthood by moving in with her cousin, Jeanette Sanchez Chavez, who also graduated from Owen. Her brother, Franco Beltran Chavez attends AC Reynolds High School. Her aunts and uncles live in our community and her cousins attend our Owen schools. Her mother, grandmother, and oldest sister and nephews live in Mexico. Any money raised will be given to the family to help pay for funeral expenses and to help deliver her ashes to her mother.
