Jaggie Goes To New York City
Donation protected
Herrow!
My name is Jaggie and I was invited to walk in New York Couture Fashion Week on February 14th & 15th, 2020 for Beth Anne Couture.
The problem is the trip to New York is not funded.
While it is an opportunity of a lifetime, it's going to cost me a lot to get to New York.
This is where I could use a little help.
The trip will be from February 12 - February 16th. I need help to pay for my flight ($700-$800), hotel ($1,000), and other expenses ($500 meals, transportation, dollar exchange rate, hidden fees etc).
I will also be missing work on these days which costs me a little as well but I'll figure that part out.
I just need the basics of the trip covered as this is all happening so fast and I haven't had time to save for it.
I am hoping to raise $2400 - that's 240 people at $10 each. Or 480 people at $5. We could keep going but you get the gist - anything is appreciated. I know there is a lot of people in a tough spot with our economy right now, so I am not expecting much from anybody. If you don't have the funds to donate, please share!! Awareness is also extremely helpful.
More about me below:
For those who don't know me, I am a freelance model (no agency, I represent myself) born and raised in Calgary, Alberta.
For those who do know me, you know how hard I have worked over the past 4 years for this kind of opportunity.
The above opportunity is almost unheard of for a free-lance model like myself. My portfolio was built on the back of the TFP industry; TFP means "trade-for-print" which further means, nobody is getting paid for the shoot.
As a free lance model, paid work is hard to come by. I am competing with giant agencies who not only have a plethora of talent on hand, but they also have the inside contacts. And the money.
I have been clawing my way through this industry, trying to get a shot.
A real shot. A shot that would change my life. Chasing a dream.
And I have loved every second of chasing my dream; I love modelling. The entire process from idea to final photos to working with so many other creative talents is always a mind blowing, soul fulfilling experience.
This runway opportunity is a real shot. I will be in New York City - one of the biggest fashion capitals of the world. I will be able to network with people who could actually change my future; who can actually see and appreciate not only my talents, but who I am as a person.
I need your help because I don't have the funds to afford this trip of a lifetime. I've started this GoFundMe because I know this is my moment. My moment to shine, to show what I'm truly made of... to show off what Calgary, Alberta & Canada created! I'm the true Albertan girl flying away to New York to make her dreams a reality.
I'm one step away from blowing a door I've been searching for WIDE OPEN.
Anything you can donate is helpful. I know there's so many things going on in this world of ours, but by supporting me you're showing that dreams can still come true. There is always a light in the dark, and I am ready to SHINE.
