While taking the dogs out at night, in the wooded back yard our Yorkie took off running after a deer into the woods.  After hearing an excruciating howl, we took off running into the woods to find Jagger. We followed the moaning for about 20 minutes through the woods, and found him in the under brush bleeding and barely conscious. We rushed him to the hospital, at which time they stabilized him because he was in shock. His body temperature was very low.It appears he was trampled by the deer. Jagger has 12 puncture wounds, which led to several surgeries. He has gashes all over his body from the hooves of the deer. Jagger belongs to our son Jalen, who is currently serving in the U.S. Navy and on deployment on a submarine. He has no idea what has happened and we have been instructed not to inform him of any bad news. We would appreciate if you would just share this via email/messenger but do not post this on social media where he might be able to see it. We had to bring Jagger home as an outpatient due to the bill being astronomical. The funds are going to be used for hospital stay, surgeries, medications, and further vet visitation. Jagger has been in the family for 10 years, he is loved just as any member of our family. He's a special little guy, and we would appreciate any help big or small.
