Jager Needs Help and Seamus Needs Help.

Hey Everyone,
I really hope your last 3 weeks were somewhat better than mine. I nearly lost my beautiful, amazing Belgian Malinois service animal, Jäger. Unfortunately, bad luck found us while we were down in Brooklyn for work. Jäger ingested a foreign object without me knowing. It was pitch black outside. We went for a walk late at night. Which is normal for me and Jager. Weve been in the woods for 6 months so we didnt realize the food cart vendors down here dump their garbage on the street in Brooklyn. Hes not a small puppy. Ive watched him swallow hot dogs whole. I didn't even know it until he was unable to keep his food down. He became extremely lethargic. Initially we had thought he had gotten into some rat poison which has been an issue around my neighborhood - they bait. They do not put up any warning signs. My neighbors Doberman was killed last year because of this. We took him to the vet, ran an IV.. got him hydrated. We waited to see if it would pass, it didn't. Dr Fischetti had me come to his home and ran an ultrasound. We found out that he had ingested something the size of half an iphone. It was either surgery or death. Jäger was immediatley rushed in for emergency surgery to AMC after a stint in the ICU, IV’s , his tummy being cut open and 30 stitches later, the object was removed. After a harrowing week I was able to take him home 3 days later. His life was saved. We think it was a kitchen sponge from a food truck vendors garbage that just tasted yummy in the middle of the night.
Jäger was rescued from a kill shelter in Georgia by my good friend Rex of @RexK9Rescue, almost 4 years ago. My wife, Tatjana @Tatjana_Gellert and I took him into our home and gave him all the love and safety in the world. He is our baby, but he is also my service animal. (trained by Rex) I NEED Jäger. The thought of me losing him is something I don't want to have to think about for a very long time. He’s been the biggest emotional and service support to me during the pandemic as well as in any current real-life situations. That he is alive, is all I want and need. He never leaves my side. I'm talking planes, trains, automobiles and he's a beloved mascot of everyone up on the mountain where we live. We live upstate in a cabin in the woods for most of the year where he plays in the snow, hikes in the mountains, and stays cozy in front of the fireplace. He is never out of my sight yet HE is working as soon as I put him on a leash. The choice was and always will be to save him no matter what. Jäger survived that kill shelter, and now has survived this. I hope that now he can just enjoy his life.
My monkey, as my wife calls him, is now on the way to making a full recovery. It's been almost 2 weeks now of constant care. Watching him nonstop day and night to make sure he's not in any pain. No words can express the gratitude I feel that my beloved service animal was saved. Big, HUGE THANK YOU to Dr. Fischetti at The Animal Medical Center in NYC, Rex Hughes of RexK9Rescue and everyone at AMC that worked on my puppy. Thank you for going above and beyond. I am so very thankful to have such good friends.
Unfortunately, as all of you can imagine, this came with a big $7200 bill. The financial and emotional burden is overwhelming. I am paying to save my service animal but it's a big hit to the wallet. So, I’m asking if anybody can please help me to offset the costs of this horrific journey. Any amount will be helpful, appreciated and Jäger will be very grateful. If in any case more money is donated that is above the current bills (he's gonna need a checkup) It will be donated equally to @amcny.org and @RexK9Rescue rescue. So, we can all save more animals' lives.
I am posting Jager's vet bills for full transparency. And obviously photos of my Little Jager. Jager, who has an insta so you can see him @House_of_maligator I call him little but he's about 80 pounds of little. I’m grateful for any love and help.
God Bless you all.
Much love,
Seamus, Tati + Jäger

Jagers Medical bill..
@Malinosrescueleague as well. Cause they offered to repost this. They help save a lot of puppies aside from @RexK9Rescue .. so Lots of love for everyone and their rescue puppies as well... And all the help will be given back in Kharma and Dharma. So we can save Jager and help rescue, rehab and rehome other neglected animals in the future.. Because I def need my service animal back and fully operational.
