Jagadambe Needs Sponsorship

Hi everyone. People call me Lucy. They also call me Jagadambe, the name given to me by my Guru, which means Mother of the Universe.

You know, many people were saddened by the pandemic, and I was one of them. To help myself get over the loneliness and sorrow I felt at lunch time, I began reading the holy books of India while I ate. A miraculous thing happened every time I sat down to read. Not only did my sadness depart for a while, but my heart expanded with inspiration and divine love. It made me want to share the experience with other people who might be helped too, by hearing the holy stories.

My friends said people don’t have time to hear a lot of scripture, even if it’s good for them, so each of the sections I read is only around five minutes. Right now the Mahabharata is complete at 573 sections. This has taken me over a year so far, and there is still so much to read. But my coffers have run dry…I don’t have means to support this endeavor, or the rest of my life. For 6 months I had no car, big expenses with a car that wouldn’t run, its replacement turned out to be a lemon. I tried to gain employment to subsidize my inadequate mala business, but there’s not a lot a 78 year old can still do. All the physical exertions of my youth are for nought. No longer can I stand, bend or lift for my work…

My Guru called me Jagadambe, mother of the universe. What more appropriate work is there than reading to the children of the universe, you.

It says at the beginning of the Ramayana, that hearing the stories guarantees that a person will go to heaven. That’s what I call very good work I want to do, and can do, but I sure do need sponsorship. I can’t do it alone any more, without falling into terror because my money has gotten so low it scares me to pay a bill or eat a meal.

To be part of the continuity of the continuation of the holy scriptures throughout time, is a very satisfying thing, and I hope you see that supporting me is a great way to do that.
