Help Pay for Jae's Bone Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
Many of you reading this already know the generous hearts of Jordon (Jae) and Laura Melfi. They’re the friends that show up, no matter the cost, in your hour of need – can you be here for them now?
To those of you who’ve not had the pleasure, let me introduce you.
Twenty-six year old Jae is a beautiful and talented young artist who loves her family above all else. She works hard to help support herself and her mother working full time and taking odd jobs to fill the income gaps. Laura is Jae’s mother as well as her biggest cheerleader. She’s an artist herself; a seasoned hairstylist. It’s not hard to guess where Jae gets her boatloads of talent and creativity.
Both of these women give till it hurts. Right now they are hurting and need help from you.
Disabled from spinal injuries that resulted in multiple vertebral fusions, Laura has raised Jae alone putting aside her needs as many mothers do in pursuit of her daughter’s happiness and success. Now those goals seem to be on hold as Jae begins a new chapter in her young life. This chapter is the one in which Jae fights and wins her battle against high grade osteosarcoma. Already in stage 3 when it was discovered in her left humerus bone (the largest bone in the arm located between the shoulder and the elbow) a few short weeks ago, this diagnosis has shaken us, as a family, to our collective core.
This is what we all hope and pray will be a short and victorious chapter in young Jae’s life. You can help ensure that outcome. You can lift Jae up in your hearts and prayers. You can pray for Jae’s doctor’s and her entire treatment team, that they will have divine insight into her needs and care. And you can pray for our entire family to remain strong and positive – to find the blessing in the pain.
Another prayer we can pray for Jae and Laura is for their financial security through this difficult time. We all know of families who have been devastated by the crushing weight of medical bills. It’s a stress like no other, but it does not have to be this way. We can support Jae and Laura by making a small donation to help ease their burden. We can show we care in a tangible and practical way.
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather serve one another humbly in love. Galatians 5:13
These last few years have brought heartache to many of us. I hope and pray you have a network of loving people around you if you ever face the road Jae has ahead of her.
Please share Jae’s story with your friends even if you have no way of contributing financially. It means the world to us.
Thank you for reading this and joining our family as we pray for a speedy and full recovery for Jae.
