Jaelle and Justus Tieche Service Trips Support

Hi!

This is Justus and Jaelle Tieche.

We both attend The King's Academy, a Christian school in the Bay Area. This April, every student in our entire high school is going on a week-long service trip. There are 11 different trips across the nation and in Mexico, and each one partnering with an organization that serves the marginalized in our society - people really in need.

The goal of these trips is to shape us to be more like Jesus, helping us become compassionate people who serve those in need. Our teachers have taught us math and science, but this lesson is even more important.

JAELLE’S SERVICE TRIP - ANCHORAGE ALASKA

Jaelle will be working in a homeless shelter in Alaska’s largest city, passing out food and clothes. There’s also a ministry whose goal is to support women and girls, and she’ll get to spend time with them. Sometimes, you need more than just food and shelter.

JUSTUS’ SERVICE TRIP - SKID ROW IN LA

Justus will be working with the Union Rescue Mission - a ministry that’s been serving the homeless in LA since 1891. This is a pretty intense trip (as you can imagine). We’ll help out, doing light construction projects and working at the food kitchen. We’ll also see first-hand what’s working to help with the growing issue of urban poverty.
