Jael Ridley is a 26 year old who, on March 13, 2019, was given the ultimate challenge in her young life. She was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia and life as she knew it, drastically changed.
The most drastic change that Jael has had to undergo, is the loss of her job and her income. She has Long Term Disability that was set to go into effect in September 2019. However, they have placed her claim under investigation and are drawing out the process which in turn is accruing extra costs that were not anticipated.
She has had no income as of June 2019, other than what has been given thus far through this page. This was carefully budgeted to last until the Long Term Disability would begin. She was denied unemployment because, at that time, she physically could not work and she was denied SSI benefits because she owns a car.
Finally, she was approved for regular Social Security Benefits that would go into effect in October 2019, however, the amount promised would only be enough to cover rent and her car.
