A word from Jacob's FB:
4:20 PM, THURSDAY, SOMEWHERE IN TEXAS...
A little over two weeks ago at the Hole in the Wall here in Austin, myself and 5 other musicians, along with Mayor Adler, made the announcement to the city and beyond that we had been chosen as this year’s ATX6. This means I’ll be traveling to several locations across the globe beginning this fall representing the city of Austin: a kind of cultural ambassador for the Austin music scene that I’ve been participating in for almost 14 years. And as if that weren't exciting enough, beginning in March of this year, I was able to begin recording my brand new album BLANCA FLOR with a birthday gift from a friend: a day at Church House Studios. And we’re excited to announce that we’ll be releasing it this fall:
ABOUT THE TIME WE HEAD TO HALIFAX AND VIETNAM.
This album has been an enormous labour of love from it’s very beginnings to the present by my whole crew who have helped, and continue to help, with the completion of this project: Grant Johnson, Kristopher Lee Wade, James Gwyn, Sam Kossler, Micah Motenko, Philip Harder. And as many of you are aware, the very act of making an album these days is borderline loco, in that it still takes piles of money to make, often with little monetary return seen.
AND THAT’S OK WITH ME.
The last album WINESKIN was put out in 2015 and payed for by a humble $100 gift from a stranger to make my own record, and the rest by me working for a landscaping company, a moving company, all while gigging out many of those evenings. These days, I’m a full-time musician, gigging at least once per evening, 5/6/7 nights of the week, in various venues, with various bands, on various instruments. So while I’m very proud, and grateful, to do what I what I love for a living, like many other jobs, as most of us know,
WORKIN A LOT DON’T MEAN MAKIN A LOT.
And that’s why I’m here asking for your support to help get this album on the ground and GALLOPING. Help getting my men payed for their time and talents. The recording, the tracking, engineering, production, mixing, mastering, art direction, then physical production into CD & vinyl, blahblah-dee-blahblah.
This GoFundMe was started a little over two weeks ago, much to my surprise, by my cosmic musical brother Kris Wade, outta love for a band of musical compatriots, so that we could complete this album and then give it on back to y’all.
AND THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
