Hey all,
Some of you may know that, due to some mental health struggles, I've been on disability for the past three months, only making 66.6% of basic, which isn't enough to cover bills, groceries, gas, etc. I'm currently behind on both rent and child support.
This morning when I arrived at work, I was pulled into a meeting with management and my union rep. Many things were discussed, mostly related to my mental health and recent Autism diagnosis. By the end of the meeting, I was told that I had to go home, and would not be returning to work. Rather, I am being subjected to a head-to-toe physical and full psychiatric assessment by the insurance company. This undertaking has not yet been scheduled, and I don't know when it will be. I have an appointment with my GP on 18 March, so hopefully the assessments will be done before then. If I "pass" these assessments, there's a chance I'll get my job back.
In the meantime, I'm completely screwed in the financial department, and I'm taking the completely embarrassing step of reaching out and asking for help. I never wanted it to come to this, but I've run out of options.
My most pressing expenditures are rent ($525), and child support ($250). There's also the usual bills (natural gas, power, gasoline, car plates, groceries, etc.).
I know times are tough for many of you. If you're unable to contribute, please keep me in your thoughts. If you are able to contribute, please do.
My fiscally-responsible partner Andi will be handling the fundraiser, and making sure all money raised goes to the right places.
I need help now, but this, too, shall pass. I just need assistance getting over this hill.
With sincere thanks,
Jae Blakley
