Daniel Mercer is my big brother. He is also known as Dan, Dan the Man, or as my kids used to call him, Danta Clause. He is a husband and a father. Dan is one of the wittiest people you will ever meet. And he never complains, I mean never, no matter what life throws his way.

Recently, he was hospitalized with a blood clot behind his knee. After numerous attempts to dissolve it, 3 surgeries, and a raging infection, the Dr.s had to make the difficult decision to amputate. As a truck driver, his livelihood is now uncertain, and the road to recovery will be long and demanding.

The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward covering Dan’s hospital bills and the extensive rehabilitation he’ll need in the coming months ahead. Your support will help ease the financial burden so Dan can focus on healing.

Despite everything, he remains optimistic and positive towards the future. The first text I received from him after his surgery was a picture of him with 1.5 legs that said, “Lt Dan ain’t got no leg.”
