Jade's Survival Fund

Hi <3 many of you know me as mirin doja, an artist and active member within the rave & dance music scene in the pacific northwest. I'm raising money for our beloved Jade, aka xBulletNymphx behind the decks, and a member of Portland crust-punk band Agarik. I know it's been a hard time for a lot of us, and still I'd hope you'd read on to learn more about Jade's situation and why she needs our help.
Around 6 months ago, Jade lost both of her parents to a deep and serious psychosis. Jade then lost her access to insurance along with the bit of material support they provided to keep her afloat. Jade is type 1 diabetic, along with being both chronically ill, and a trans woman. Her need for medication is critical for several reasons.
Losing this critical resource and subsequently needing to switch to state insurance caused a severe disruption in her care, and the stress considerably exacerbated her chronic illness. Jade has needed increased attention and treatment for her chronic illness after a seizure prior to this event, which since compromised her ability to hold a consistent entry level job. This is what initially led Jade to rely on her parents to partially help her with living expenses. Outside of the health and financial losses this event has prompted, Jade is also dealing with a huge emotional loss of no longer being in coherent contact with her parents.
Funding this GoFundMe will contribute to Jade's living expenses, and help her stabilize emotionally, physically, and financially. Jade's income primarly comes from dj gigs, throwing raves, and online gig work and is usually sporadic. This funding goal was calculated to help her make it through the warm-weather outdoor rave season and into the colder months. Many of us know how much financial instability primarily relying on throwing raves and dj gigs can bring, and having a financial foundation can help her make it through the feast-or-famine nature of this line of work.
I am beginning the process of helping Jade get on disability, but anyone who knows about this process knows how long it can take. I've also been doing my part to provide the resources I have at my disposal to help her, but it's becoming clear that her needs require community assistance. I am hoping I can at least reasonably try and raise enough money to keep her going through the summer, so she can start to get back on her feet, and hopefully prioritize her physical health. The threat of potentially becoming homeless as someone with type 1 diabetes is quite serious, and I wouldn't be asking for the amount that I am if I didn't think it wasn't key to keeping Jade alive and on this earth.
On a personal note, I admire Jade for so many reasons. I admire her talent as a musician, her love for bringing people together through music, and her passion to create an open community for queer and trans people, who are often alienated and left out of mainstream dance music scenes. If you've ever been to any of her 254 Science and Research raves, you'll know the kind of talent and potential she has as a dj, producer, promoter, and label owner. I look at Jade and I see her among one of the artists who deserve to be at the helm of dance music to come. Prioritizing safety, inclusivity, and genuine love of music and connection are vitally important in those who involve themselves in the rave scene, as these are places that can easily become unsafe, exploitative, and exclusionary in the wrong hands. I admire Jade for having a good head on her shoulders, a much better one than was on mine when I was her age. In short, Jade deserves our support, and contributing to her fund will greatly aid her survival.
Thank you for reading this far,
