Hello everyone,
My name is Jade, and I am the Quality Improvement and Development Manager at Applecross Nursing Home. Applecross is home to 82 residents, including 60 younger adults and 22 older adults, all living with a wide range of disabilities, illnesses, and complex health conditions.
From 1st January to 31st May, I am taking on a five-month fundraising challenge supported by families, colleagues, and the wider community. The aim of this challenge is to raise funds to purchase a Hi-Lo care home interactive touch table for our residents.
The Hi-Lo touch table will bring significant benefits to those living at Applecross. Its height-adjustable design makes it accessible for wheelchair users and residents with limited mobility, allowing everyone to take part comfortably. The interactive screen can be used for group activities and one-to-one sessions, supporting cognitive stimulation, communication, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing. It can also be used for reminiscence therapy, games, music, visual activities, and meaningful engagement, helping to reduce isolation and promote inclusion for residents of all abilities.
This five-month challenge is ambitious and will push me well outside my comfort zone, but I am fully committed to seeing it through for such a meaningful cause.

Month 1 (January):

Month 4 (April):
