Jade Wish To Walk

We are raising money for aftercare for "Jade's Wish To Walk" Please read our story.

Jade is a young adult and was born with Cerebral Palsy (spastic depligia) it affects her (all four limbs) but mainly her legs are more affected then her arms.

Cerebral palsy is a lifelong conditions that affect movement and co-ordination, caused by a problem with the brain. Jades cerebral palsy affects (All four limbs)  but her legs are mainly affected then the arms. Jade also has learning difficulties and suffers with epilepsy.

Jade was born on 19th November at 32 weeks early (2 months early) Jade suffered lack of oxygen and due to this Jade's development was very slow to other children her age, she wasn't meeting her milestones at the age of 6 we found out Jade had Cerebral Palsy.

Sadly Jades never had anything most children have such as Botox,  lengething surgery or had anything with bobath. As Jades reached an adult it is harder to raise money without a charity, Jade was with the TREE OF HOPE since she was 13 but now Jade has reached the age limit and now it's even more harder to raise money.

Jade is extremely happy, chatty, polite young adult and wants to help others later on with fundraising.
 Jade really wants to walk!

We've been fundraising for an operation called Selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) its a life changing operation that is performed in America  it's also done in the UK but due to Jades age and Mobility  the only option we have is to fly to America St.Louis and Dr.Park will be performing Jades SDR surgery.

Weve been fundraising for the surgery for about nearly 5 years We've met so many incredible people over the years. But Jade needs SDR in America as soon as possible.  Her spasticity is getting worse, her muscles are getting more tighter from muscle spasms she has every night so Jade needs to have the surgery ASAP.  But Jade can't have it done without raising £75,000.

SDR) which is an operation used to improve spasticity (muscle stiffness) in people who have cerebral palsy. This will stop any pain and daily spasms and will CHANGE JADES LIFE FOR EVER!!

I have some wonderful yet amazing news to share with you all.

You all know I have the greatest news to share with all of you. I have been given my date for SDR with Dr Park at St Louis hospital (July 27th). I am so incredibly excited and forever grateful for this life changing opportunity.

As all of you know We've have been fundraising for many years and it’s been a very difficult and challenging time for me and my family due to a multitude of reasons and regardless of how hard we have all fund raised, combined with the efforts of some wonderful people who have organised events for us and still continue to do so, we were still not in a position to be able to afford this life changing operation.... It has been a growing concern of ours and We didn’t think it would be achievable to raise the money for SDR by this July.

However, We have been blessed with an outstanding anonymous donation from someone who has been following my journey to date, they have gifted us the funds to be able to have the SDR operation on July 27th this year. I feel utterly blessed and We want to thank them with all of our hearts for the opportunity to undergo this life changing operation.

Due to this incredible donation and gesture I can at least be forever thankful and grateful knowing that I will be able to have the operation as originally planned.

Our challenge now is to raise the money for our flights, accommodation and continued therapy and equipment, which are vital for both my pre-habilitation and rehabilitation. Currently I estimate the cost of flights and accommodation while I am in America for the operation and post rehabilitation will be £10,000 and of course, to maximise the potential of the operation, I will have to fund intensive rehabilitation and strength development, physio equipment, hydrotherapy etc. for at least 2-3 years after my operation at a cost of roughly £12,000 per year. I really do need to prepare for all of this and maintain the level of support needed to ensure physical qualities are developed and indeed progressed. So my journey of fund raising for Jades SDR journey must continue.

Thank you to all my supporters, helpers of Jades GO-FUND-ME page and all of my family & friends.

I would also like to thank our two beloved trustiest how have supporting with the flights commendation and finance. They are indeed a very close to our hearts our grandparents to us all. We could not thank you for all the news reports and for being so generous. We thank you Soo much for everything that you do Grandpa Gordon and Nana Christine.

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE!!✈️

Please keep following Jade's journey!!
We are all over the moon all our wishes and dreams have come true⭐️⭐️

Jades had Tendo-Lengthing done last year on 14th July 2016 with Dr.Matthew Dobbs in America St.Louis children's hospital, because Jade has never had any treatment her whole life such as Botox or lengthening surgery Jade ankles were   Extremely  tight due to the spasticity, normally people would have SDR and then a round of lengething surgery, sadly it was the other round. But now as Jades still got spasticity Jade will need more Tendo-Lengething to get her feet flat on the floor as well as having SDR.

Thankful we've had a walker that we had a event raised for us to get the walker, Sally Owen and the fishing team did amazing event for us, and raised £1, 226 the walker came too £1,110 pounds we are always so greatful and thankful thank you so much Sally Owen and everyone at fishing event. Because Jade needs to be walking or taking a few steps before surgery and we need to build her muscles up as the stronger her legs are the better the outcome of SDR will be.

Jade also has a strengthen and condition  specialist that is private and we pay her around £600 per month or two.
Jade will also be having  her first lot of hydrotherapy and those sessions also have a cost of £15 per session,
we need you're support as much as we can to raise enough money as possible. Without the lovely donation I don't think we'd be able to go America this year, but Thank you so much to everyone else who are  continuing to support Jade's Wish To Walk, Jade is a very happy young lady who doesn't moan about anything.

All donations are forever grateful please share our Go Fund Me and Help Jade's Wish To Walk.
