We are the West family, Jeff and Carmen. Our daughter, Jada, needs your help.

Jada is a beautiful, lively 24 years old, single mother of 2 year old Alaya, a full time employee, and a full time mom. She is a hard working, intelligent, independent woman.

At the age of 21 Jada found several lumps in both of her breasts. She underwent surgery to remove all the tumors. Due to the size of the tumors she also required a breast reconstruction.

A year later while pregnant with her daughter, Alaya, Jada's tumors returned and she developed a rare condition (1:1000,000), Gestational Gigantomastia. This condition caused rapid breast tissue growth, incredible pain, breathing complications, as well as many other issues. Her daily life was drastically affected. At 30 weeks pregnant, a vein in her left breast ruptured and she was rushed to the hospital and given two pints of blood. We almost lost Jada and her unborn daughter that night. Doctors could not operate due to her being 30 weeks pregnant, and so baby Alaya was delivered at 31 weeks and spent 6 weeks in the hospital NICU. Meanwhile, Jada developed blood clot complications and had to undergo surgery to put a stent in her leg. Once stable, Jada finally had the second round of breast tumors removed as well as a second reconstructive surgery on her breast; this surgery was very extensive due to the Gestational Gigantomastia.

With these surgeries behind her, and baby Alaya home, we were incredibly grateful and our prayer was that life would now be normal for them.

January 2023, Jada discovered a new lump in her breast. An ultrasound confirmed two more tumors in addition to the one Jada had found. A follow-up in March 2023 revealed a fourth tumor which verified rapid tissue changes and rapid tumor growth. According to Jada's oncologist who has treated her from age 21, a double mastectomy (the removal of both breasts), is the best plan of action to eradicate any current tumors and growths, and to lessen any chance of them returning in the future. It is a major surgery with many months of recovery.

This is a hard course of action to accept at 24 years old.

Currently, Jada is still attempting to work full time along with being a full time mom. She is in constant pain, but is staying strong. Our high insurance deductible, countless appointments (current and after surgery), medications, and two upcoming surgeries in June/July are more than we can handle alone, and so we are reaching out to our extended family, friends, coworkers, church family, and anyone who would be willing to give monetarily towards these expenses.

Above all pray for our daughter, Jada. Pray for her daughter, Alaya. Pray for us all as we do all we can to ease her burdens and to keep her spirits up.

We are so grateful to everyone who has been with us from the beginning. It has been so difficult, but we have HOPE and TRUST in God's faithfulness in all things.
