Jacque's Wish
Jacqueline Sutton contracted Covid-19 the last week of July. Being immunocompromised with Lupus, we knew it was going to be a long road. Jacque was admitted to the emergency room on Tuesday, August 10th. Shortly thereafter Jacque was put on a Ventilator because her oxygen was getting critically low. We were told Jacque desperately needed an ICU room in order to get better and everyday without the proper treatment was a risk. We prayed hard for four days until we got the call that an ICU bed in San Antonio, Texas was ready for her.
Jacque has fought incredibly hard for life and has yet to give up. In the beginning of the summer Jacque became homeless once trying to transition from one rental home to the next. She had been staying in a motel in hopes she would find a permanent place soon. It is at this motel that Jacque contracted Covid. It would greatly sadden us if we were forced to take her to a motel that would once again put her health at risk.
We understand the hospitals need for the bed and we very much respect it. Please understand that Jacque is not in the clear and still is very sick. The ICU she is in now is pushing her very hard to get better so her stats are fluctuating. Today, August 17th, was the first day the doctor mentioned anything about possible recovery. Jacques doctor has a goal of getting her off the ventilator by Friday as long as her body agrees.
If Mom is able to come off of the ventilator we will be in need of at least $2000 for an extended airbnb here in San Antonio so she can attend any follow up appointments and have a clean safe place to go for some time. During that time we will work tirelessly to find mom a permanent housing solution. We are asking friends, family, and the community for their donations to provide mom with a safe and clean living environment during her recovery.
