Demetrias Diamond and Sheila Compuesto have organized this campaign in an effort to help our co-worker, Jacqueline Hussein, a dedicated RN. The letter below was written by Jacqueline.
April of 2018, I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. The diagnosis led to five months of chemotherapy, followed by surgery, and then radiation. I was unable to work, savings depleted, and the medical debt is overwhelming.
On December 24, 2019, my husband developed ARDS from the flu and pneumonia. He was hospitalized until January 10, 2020, discharged home on oxygen. My husband's recovery will be slow and long according to the doctors. We were informed the damage to his lungs may be permanent and he may require oxygen for life. Unfortunately, my husband is unable to work at this time. We are unable to withstand another financial crisis.
